Did you know that the Lowrider (here) is designed so that it can use all of the sleeves from Every Which Way? That’s part of why the bundle (here) is such a great deal. You may not need to buy any other patterns to get every look you can imagine.
To help your patterns goes even further, I’ve already done a blog post on how to switch a button closer from the back to the front. (here)
Today, I’ll show you how easy it is to turn Lowrider into a button front dress with one super quick pattern modification. Get ready for it… Just add 1″ to the front pattern piece along the fold. It’s really THAT SIMPLE! You don’t need to modify the back piece at all.
The trickiest part is remembering the cutting instructions are different now.
- Front Bodice : Cut 2 Mirrored Main
Cut 2 Mirrored Lining
- Back Bodice: Cut 1 on Fold Main
Cut 1 on Fold Lining
Now, you can follow the tutorial from Every Which Way (here) for construction but you can skip the placket in the skirt. This will provide a fully lined bodice and provide instructions for adding a sleeve if you wish.
I told you it was easy! The lovely Annie Lomeli sewed this up for her daughter. She added the short set in sleeve from Every Which Way and I’m in love with this look.
